Lights, Camera, Action! Submission video tips for hackers

We know as devs and innovators, your expertise normally lies behind the scenes, but the submission video needs time and care too! It's often the first (and sometimes only!) thing that judges review. Your video tells the stellar story behind your project, providing a clear avenue to showcase your software and talent.
Prep your elevator pitch and don’t forget to include:
-
how your project meets the hackathon requirements—aim for the sky!
-
how you used Gemini 3
-
problem your project addresses
-
solution your project addresses
Demo your project in a way that shows judges how real-world users will interact and benefit from it. Make your project shine like a bright star!
-
Time-saving Tip
-
Write out your script and practice it before you record to ensure you cover everything in the time limit. Don't leave any space for doubt.
-
Pro(crastinator) Tip
-
We CANNOT stress this enough: Don't wait until the last minute to upload your video! Due to file size, format, and your Internet connection, uploading a video to YouTube or Vimeo could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. A rushed upload could be a moon-umental mistake!

Lastly, a couple of FAQs:
1. How does Access to the free tier of Gemini 3 work?
- Here is how the Gemini API pricing (free tier with quota limits in AI Studio) works
- Rate Limits
2. Can I share a test login with the judges?
- Yes! There is a submission form question: Testing Instructions. This question is only shown to the judges and Devpost managers and will not be shown publicly. Please note that according to the rules, judges are not required to test the Project and may choose to judge based solely on the text description, images, and video provided in the Submission. Your project still must include either a public AI Studio link or a public code repo. Be sure to review the full rules carefully.
